Hello! My name is Phillip Mason, and this is my second year teaching at JMPS. I currently teach 6th grade Social Studies, 8th grade Ancient World History, 9th grade US Government, and 12th Grade Humanities. I am an Arizona transplant, and I grew up in Maryville, TN which is a little town in the heart of the Great Smokey Mountains. My time in Tennessee ended after I earned my bachelor’s degree in History from The University of Tennessee, and I accepted a job in Toccoa, GA. In Toccoa I was the Assistant Director at Camp Fire Camp Toccoa, and that was the beginning of my journey in youth development. I love exploring nature by hiking, camping, and running. When I am not outside, I love reading, watching soccer, and playing tabletop games.
