My name is Christopher Batchelder and I’ve been at this school since the day it was founded. I joined the school officially in 2009 as a 7th grader and graduated in 2015. While at JMPS, I spent six years participating in Drumline (HUAH!) and choir, playing the alto saxophone in the chamber orchestra, and being a part of every play/musical as either tech or on stage. After graduating, I’ve come back every year to coach the drumline and assist in the plays and musicals. This year, I will be teaching 6th grade Fine Arts, 7th grade Art, 8th grade Drama, 9th grade Music Appreciation, and 10th grade Drama. My goal is to help students enrich their lives with the arts, working with the school’s mission to prepare them for college and the real world. I graduated from Mesa Community College with an Associate’s degree in Fine Arts, where I learned to hone my abilities as an artist. I am currently working towards my Bachelor's degree in Art. When I’m not teaching, coaching, conducting, or directing, I spend my time making art of my own, filming stop-motion animations, and spending time with my family.
