BiographyHi, I am Mrs. Kunstetter and I teach High School Science at James Madison Preparatory School. I am from Brazil and I moved to the U.S in 2017. My first language is Portuguese and YES. I do love soccer. I also love swimming, running, yoga and all kind of sports! I have a Ph.D. in sports science by the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil (2018). I moved to the U.S to assume a post-doctoral fellow position at Saint Joseph Hospital/Barrow Neurological Institute. I have always loved science and doing research. I love to always be learning something new and challenging myself through new experiments, research proposals and writing. After completing my post doctoral training in 2019, I have decided that my experience with teaching and mentoring students in the laboratory setting was so rewarding that I wanted to refocus my career on teaching rather than research. I started my journey in the U.S public schools in the beginning of 2020 and I am having a really great time. I found that teaching brings similar levels of challenge and learning as research does with the bonus of being able to share my journey with students.
I feel very happy and excited to teach at JMPS and share this experience with such a wonderful staff and student body. |
