thank you! we will get through this trying time together.
My name is Ms. Jennifer Dean and I am the 6th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at JMPS. I am originally from Los Angeles, California where I discovered my inherent love for writing and reading. From a young age, I spent most of my time writing fictional stories. My father instilled in me a deep appreciation for history and its importance which inspired my love for the subject as well.
I am a double alumnus at the University of Arizona. I graduated in 2018 with a BA in Creative Writing and a minor in Communication, and graduated with my Master’s in Education in 2019. I completed teacher internships where I taught young people of all ages. I taught English at EOI Barcelona III Sant Gervasi in Barcelona, Spain during my undergraduate semester abroad, as well as at Tucson High Magnet School during my graduate study.
I believe that every child should come to school knowing that their uniqueness, challenges, and strengths will be welcomed with open arms. By establishing an engaging environment centered on openness, inquiry, optimism, and an excitement for learning, I believe that I can help children flourish. I strive to address each of my students’ needs academically, emotionally, and culturally. I strive to have a positive impact on the present and future of each and every one of my students.
When I am not teaching, reading, and writing, I love to spend time outdoors, try new restaurants, listen to music, as well as travel with family and friends. I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible community!
