“Semi-formal” includes a skirt or casual dress of appropriate modesty, professional attire (blazer and slacks), and dress or casual professional shoes, slacks, oxford or other dress shirt and tie, a sport coat, and dress or casual professional shoes. If you are unsure about your attire please contact Mrs. Robinson for guidance or approval. Students without an appropriate level of modesty may be asked to leave if they are unable to cover up. |
Homecoming & Spirit Week Information:
T-shirts pre-sales: Monday, October 2-5th before school & at assembly. The T-shirts are $15, which includes students being able to wear jeans with any closed toe shoe (not crocs). T-shirts will be handed out on Friday, October 20th. Spirit Links & Dance tickets will go on sale on Thursday, October 19th. Spirit Links: $1 per sheet of paper, and homerooms compete for the most links purchased. Dance Tickets Dance tickets are $12 for a singles ticket, $18 for a couple’s ticket. Dance tickets can be purchased during the day at school. The deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, October 26th. Dance Passes: If students wish to bring a guest who does not attend the school, they must have a dance pass filled out and approved by Wednesday, October 18th. Dance passes are available upon request from Mrs. Caves. An approved dance pass is required to purchase a ticket for a non-JMPS guest. Guests are limited to persons currently enrolled in high school. *Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. Dress-Up Days: Students may dress up in the theme or current homecoming spirit t-shirt. The MS & HS homeroom with the highest % participation, whether themed dress up or wearing spirit shirts for the week, will win an ice cream party. Monday, October 23: Students may wear their spirit shirts with jeans to school. Tuesday, October 24: “Dress like a JMPS teacher” Wednesday, October 25: “Barbie vs Oppenheimer” Thursday, October 26: “What I want to be when I grow up” Glow Night: Thursday evening at 6:30 pm there will be GLOW Night with the Carnival (hosted by the executive branch) following. Parents and friends are invited to come to this annual tradition. This event is only open to current JMPS families and alumni who have graduated from JMPS. Friday, October 27: “Red, White, & Blue” Study hall will be at the end of the day. Sparx and Drumline will be hosting a pep rally during study hall. The homecoming football game will be that evening at 7 pm at Salt River HS. We will be recognizing the seniors before the game and then crowning the Homecoming royalty during halftime following Drumline and Sparx halftime performance. Saturday, October 28: The homecoming dance is for high school only. Semi-formal attire is required for those in attendance. The dance is from 7-11pm. Gates will be closed at 8pm. Students will not be admitted, and no refunds will be given if you arrive after 8pm. This new rule is for safety reasons and will apply to prom as well.
