My Biography

What a thrill it was to start teaching at JMPS in 2006!  My background was in business and communications.  For over 25 years I was involved in many aspects of radio, television, and multi-media productions.  Then, after ten years in home health care management, an opportunity arose to teach junior high science at JMPS and I couldn’t resist!

I graduated twice from my college alma mater, M.B.I. in Chicago.  First was with a diploma in Communications, and again years later with a B.S. degree.  I served as a Community Advisor for Northeastern University, did guest lecturing at Wheaton College Graduate School of Communications, and have conducted professional seminars and training classes.  But middle school students are by far the most rewarding of all my teaching experiences!

Just a few of my hobbies and interests are carpentry, electronics, Excel spreadsheets, playing jazz guitar, amateur astronomy, motorcycling, canoeing, and flying an occasional touch-and-go with one of my radio controlled airplanes.

Classes are structured to involve students on many cognitive levels.  The goal is to foster enthusiasm for science and a basic understanding of its methods and importance, so students can eagerly and successfully build upon that foundation in their high school studies.
