My Biography

My name is Debra Caves.  I have been teaching for seventeen years, the past five here at JMPS.  I currently teach 7th grade Pre-Algebra, 8th grade Algebra I and High School Algebra I.  I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University and my Master’s degree in Education from Northern Arizona University.  I believe in creating a positive learning environment where students take responsibility for their learning and will be able to apply their math knowledge in their everyday lives.  When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my husband and my two daughters.  I also love to workout, read, and spend time with my friends.  My favorite memories of high school are the Friday night football games and playing the flute in the marching band.
