The overriding standard of conduct at James Madison Preparatory School is the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
The Code of Conduct serves as a guide for each student's actions and establishes the standard for behavior and deportment. Madison Prep's school discipline procedures are developed around the Code of Conduct. Madison Prep staffers and faculty members are expected to be examples of the Code and are subject to disciplinary action if they fail to meet this standard.

Respectfulness, Strong Work Ethic, and Responsibility
Self-Reliance - Madison Prep students focus on success by learning to count on themselves.
Honesty - Madison Prep students tell the truth and are as honest as their actions.
Integrity - Madison Prep students say what they mean and mean what they say.
Courage - Madison Prep students focus on the courage to admit their mistakes; their successes speak for themselves.
Respectfulness - Madison Prep students respect their parents, their teachers, their peers, the property of others; and they respect themselves.
Strong Work Ethic - Madison Prep students know the hardest work reaps the greatest reward. Madison Prep Students are known by their work.
Responsibility - Madison Prep students know that they are responsible for their own behavior. Everybody else is just watching.
Code of Conduct Awards will be presented to those students who best exemplify a certain Code of Conduct virtue through the trimester. The award winners' names will be inscribed on plaques, which will hang on the school's front office wall for as long as the school remains in existence.
