Why a Booster Club?
Research has found that parent involvement during middle and high school is associated with higher level of performance, better motivation, increased self-esteem, and improved behavior in students. Additionally, research establishes active parent involvement is correlated with lower drop out rates, higher levels of attendance, and more community support for the school. (987)

What is the Booster Club?
The purposeful intention of the club is to add value to the JMPS community. All of our efforts, collaborations and events are selected based on the belief that such will enhance the JMPS community life by enriching the staff, students and families through our activities and financial contributions.

Who can be a Booster Club Member?
The JMPS Booster Club is simply a collection of people who support the mission of James Madison Preparatory School. Parents, extended family members, alumni, teachers, staff, and community members who desire to positively contribute to the academic, extra curricular, and other opportunities afforded James Madison Preparatory students are welcome and encouraged to participate in any JMPS Booster Club events.

When does the Booster Club meet?
The monthly business meeting is held the 1st Tuesday of every month during the school year. Meetings are held in the school cafeteria, promptly beginning at 5:30 p.m. and concluding at 6:30 p.m.  Agendas, minutes, and voting details are available by request for any booster club member.

A message from the president:

Elected for the 2007- 2008 school year, I have the privilege of serving as president of the JMPS booster club. I have two students enrolled at JMPS currently; a sophomore who began in the 7th grade and a junior who has attended since the 9th grade. Having been a JMPS parent for the past several years, I am embarrassed to admit that I had not carried my weight as a JMPS supporter. Transferring my children from a large public school, I admit suffering from the "other person" mindset when it came to volunteering. Always believing "another parent" would fill the void, I lulled myself into falsely believing that the little time I could give to JMPS would certainly not make a difference. Now having witnessed how a precious few hours really does benefit JMPS, my assumptions have been corrected. Washing football jerseys, setting up for banquets, feeding starving students along with so much more, positively contributes to this phenomenal educational institution. Each of us has the ability and opportunity to contribute to this community.

Passionate to see more JMPS patrons actively involved with this amazing community, I am committed to helping all who desire to find their niche. This club exists because of devoted supporters, functions because of dedicated volunteers, and can evolve into what the club envisions with your involvement. As the club's momentum grows so will the ability to see to fruition all the ways the Booster Club can positively contribute to the overall educational experience of the students at JMPS. It begins with one person making the time to make a difference. Your unique gifts and abilities are needed. Please join with us!
